We are currently seeking a Load Planner to join our team! Reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
The Load Planner will be responsible for finding the right driver for the right load to promote on-time service at a profitable price.
Following processes and inputting data into McLeod with accurate information.
Updating Transportation Account Representatives with daily progress on shipment status and driver utilization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Load Planner:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Manage and coordinate the most efficient loads and routes to remain cost-effective.
Determine the best pickup and delivery methods for both outbound and inbound loads.
Discover drivers for shipment pick-ups and deliveries and communicate this to Driver Managers.
Monitor driver's hours of service and pair them to the next best load to meet their schedules, pay goals and time off needs.
Work with Transportation Account Representatives to ensure daily freight needs are met.
Work with Driver Manager regarding drivers HOS.
Communicate with driver manager to help drivers achieve revenue goals and work life balance.
Monitor and reduce deadhead and optimize revenue for the company.
Other duties as assigned by Ops Manager to meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications for the Load Planner:
A preferred minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Thorough knowledge of fleet management and logistics.
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards.
Excels at operating in a fast paced, community environment.
Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization while maintaining professional decorum.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
High level of multitasking ability.
