Job Summary We are seeking a Lab Assistant I for our Cellular & Molecular Biology department at our Mattawan, MI location.
Cellular & Molecular Biology (CMB) personnel are responsible for:
the development, performance, and support of in vitro, molecular, and /or cell-based techniques and assays.
Activities pertain to both preclinical and clinical studies of cellular and gene therapies that use qPCR and/or ddPCR technologies to assess various attributes including biodistribution, vector shedding, gene expression, formulation, and stability of novel therapeutics in a GLP environment.
Essential Functions (The fundamental Competencies/Skills & Responsibilities of the role (products and services provided/results accomplished) include, but are not limited to, those listed:
Efficiently perform and document all procedures, materials and results in compliance with applicable regulatory standards as applicable (protocols, methods, SOPs, etc.
) Demonstrate effective communication skills through informal discussions with peers, supervisor, and team Perform all laboratory maintenance functions with minimal oversight Perform laboratory support functions such as labeling and solution preparations with oversight Assist with maintaining discipline-level inventory of laboratory consumables with oversight Write both study and non-study deviations with oversight Perform all other related duties as assigned Job Qualifications Qualifications (Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities required to accomplish the essential functions) include but are not limited to:
HS/GED/Associate's degree with no experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice Ability to work under specific time constraints Competencies Lead - We lead when we advocate our purpose and model our values, when we deliver innovation, when we embrace change, and when we appreciate and celebrate the great work of others.
