We are looking to hire a Production Operator to service our Mattawan, MI location This is just a high-level overview of the role:
This position has the knowledge and shows ability to run packaging equipment.
Individuals will work with equipment controls to package finished product.
Individuals will run packaging lines while loading units to be packaged and preparing finished products for delivery or warehousing.
Packager will take corrective actions when nonconformance occurs.
May perform work on various packaging lines to ensure the prompt production of products.
Individuals must be willing to work as a team member.
The individuals must be able to lift 65 pounds throughout the shift.
The maximum lifting requirements are 80-90 pounds, and you must be able to push and pull up to 100 - 150 pounds.
The ability to work within a confined space is needed and the position will work with chemicals.
This position may also require the operation of a forklift and other material handling equipment.
Should be able to wear all required PPE including air purified respirators.
Participate in development and implementation of corrective actions.
Use of computers to make labels.
This position may also be assigned tasks in other functional areas as needed to help support the overall success of the facility.
Operate state of the art mixers, pumping equipment, hi-speed mixers, and tinting equipment in the production area.
Follow process orders from beginning to end and record all pertinent information.
Individual will add materials at specified quantities and times, check temperatures, and or mixtures and chemical reactions, record necessary batch information, and take, conduct, and record samples at designated times to ensure prompt, consistent, quality batches.
Mixer will run forklift and other material handling equipment.
Participate in confined space entry pot cleaning activities, which include use of body harness and extraction system.
Mixing position will take part in deciding and implementing corrective actions.
The Mixer Operator will read batch tickets and must be able to understand and communicate in English to run machines and interface with PLC control screens, read and complete process orders, complete safety tests.
Must be able to solve simple math problems to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings.
These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role:
Must have 1-2 years' experience within the manufacturing environment and show mechanical reasoning skills.
Position requires a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Must have good math, reading, writing and communication skills.
Assured quality work and appearance of finished product packaging.
Prepares product for shipment.
Mixing & compounding experience.
Works well with others and alone, can follow procedures and written directions, can work with minimal supervision, ability to perform basic math with or without a calculator, ability to work different shifts, familiarity with mixing and color matching.
